Creativesheffield
Creativesheffield is the city’s delivery vehicle for economic development. It is the organisation responsible for driving the delivery of projects and programmes to fulfil the strategies identified by the Strong Economy Board.
The Creativesheffield Board will have a dual role as:
- A corporate board for the economic development company Creativesheffield Ltd, directing and overseeing projects and services delivered directly by Creativesheffield;
- Monitoring and reporting on the delivery of the wider economic programme which includes projects delivered by other organisations.
To fulfil those dual roles, Creativesheffield will oversee delivery across five broad work streams:
- Infrastructure – including regeneration schemes, housing, and transport.
- Skills – including employability, basic, and higher level skills.
- Enterprise – including enterprise support provision, local economies and ‘BiG: Make It Your Business’ (Local Enterprise Growth Initiative).
- Innovation and Investment – including the city’s partnerships with universities, the NHS, and its business investment activities.
- Brand management – including leadership on marketing, major events, the city centre retail experience, and the leisure economy.
Each of these work streams will be led by one Creativesheffield Board member and one officer – either from Creativesheffield or Sheffield City Council. Creativesheffield will report progress on the economic aspects of these workstreams back to the Strong Economy Board.
