Graham Ramsden

Graham is a Chartered Town Planner with over 10 years experience within the planning, development and regeneration areas of local government in Yorkshire. He has managed environmental improvement  programmes of SRB funded regeneration agencies Batley City Challenge and Huddersfield Pride. He is currently Regional Planner, Yorkshire with British Waterways, the Government agency responsible for managing Britain’s network of navigable canals and rivers. In this role he is responsible for providing strategic planning and regeneration advice in order to ensure the county’s 250-mile network of waterways are preserved and enhanced.

Fergus Beesley

Fergus has worked in Sheffield for 20 years and although born a Lancastrian he is now a committed supporter of all things Sheffield. He is passionate about the future of Sheffield as a sustainable and economically vibrant city. He brings a wealth of experience within community economic development.

Professor Steve Sharples

Professor Steve Sharples is Head of Environmental Design and Sustainability in the School of Architecture, University of Sheffield, and he also sits on the University’s Environment Committee. Steve is a Chartered Engineer and a member of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers. His work has focussed on the environmental performance of buildings and he has carried out studies for local authorities, industry and government. One of his current projects (VivaCity 2020) is investigating sustainable urban environments, and particularly the physical and  social environments linked to city centre living. Sheffield City Council has been a major collaborator on this project.

Theresa Hitchcock

Teresa is an Equity Partner in DLA Piper UK LLP, based in the firm's Sheffield office. She is also national Head of the firm's Safety Health and Environment team. Before qualifying as a solicitor Teresa was a senior environmental health and safety officer in the region.   A key part of Teresa's practice involves projects for the regeneration of land for new and sustainable uses, and she has been actively involved for many years in the South Yorkshire Green  Business Club.

Stephen Daughtrey

Commercial Director of Bruce Electronics Recycling Ltd, based in  Sheffield. Responsible for all aspects of running a fully licensed Recycling Business including finance, sales and marketing and processing capabilities, turnover in excess of £1.2million. The company has been at the forefront of recycling for over 12 years, developing an excellent nation-wide reputation for innovative solutions to electronics recycling. Stephen is keen to shape the environmental future of his home town (for over 50 years)

Peter Murphy

Managing Director of Active Recycling and aXr Ltd. SME’s based in Sheffield concerned with the re-use of mobile communications devices. Peter is pioneering new technology in Sheffield and working  with companies across Japan and Europe and is linked with the DTi, Yorkshire Forward – strengthening international networks with Sheffield to promote mobile phone re-use and recycling.

Keith Winter

Co-Director and Senior Energy Consultant of a Sheffield based company (EMTAC Ltd). Keith works with the Carbon Trust as one of their technical experts in the field of monitoring and targeting energy usage. Keith is Sheffield born and bred and seeks to support the partnership with his technical knowledge of energy management and energy saving.

Paul Garland

Chairman of Shirtcliffe Community Forum constituted as, “The Friends of Shirtcliffe”. Paul has been a resident of Sheffield for the past four years and as a retired chartered engineer, is heavily involved in neighbourhood and community activity. Paul aims to strengthen the dialogue between the partnership and the community / voluntary  sectors to help make Sheffield a better place to be.
