Sheffield First Environment Partnership is a championing board of this partnership and forms part of the structure of family of partnerships. Our job is to:

  • Identify and champion the key environmental issues facing Sheffield
  • Develop a widely supported vision for Sheffield, produce a strategy and work across the other structures of Sheffield First Partnership to develop an action plan
  • Monitor and report on progress.

The partnership brings together the public, private, voluntary, community and faith sectors to work together to make Sheffield a great place to be.

Our Focus

In October 2005 the second Sheffield City Strategy, for the period 2005-2010, was launched. This document identifies environmental excellence as a key feature for the successful development of Sheffield and attempts to present an overarching framework for city-wide economic, social and environmental development across Sheffield. Sheffield First Environment has reached a crucial stage in attracting new members to join the board and revising the over-arching Environment Strategy for Sheffield. A Key Issues Paper on Sheffield’s environment was discussed by Sheffield First Partnership board in April; and a new Environment strategy for Sheffield was launched in the autumn.
