Terms of Reference
The Inclusive and Cosmopolitan City Board will support the Sheffield First Partnership by advising on the development of the City Strategy and the vision for the inclusive and cosmopolitan city.
The Board will champion work to achieve the vision. It will do this by:
- Engaging with delivery partnerships to offer expert advice and support them to:
-Ensure that inclusion priorities are reflected in their plans.
-Provide a focus on the needs of the most excluded groups to develop
initiatives to support their inclusion.
- Sponsoring and supporting the production of an Inclusion Strategy for the City and monitoring progress.
- Engaging on an annual basis with a wide range of stakeholders to consult on priorities for action
- Providing a link for the city to regional and national policy developments in on inclusion issues and contributing to raising awareness of Sheffield’s strengths in this area.
There will be an annual Work-plan that will:
- Examine Community Cohesion issues and Employment and Service Provision issues with particular reference to a small number of groups particularly prone to social exclusion.
- Review the Inclusion and Cohesion Strategies for the city working across the full family of partnerships and develop a new strategy for the period of the current city strategy.
