Sheffield First Safer and Sustainable Communities Partnership

The Safer and Sustainable Communities partnership is responsible for improving community safety and reducing crime across the city and was set up as a result of The Crime and Disorder Act 1998, which introduced local partnerships to address issues of crime and disorder. The primary responsibility is to reduce and deliver a Crime Reduction Strategy specifically for Sheffield (this is downloadable below).
The Partnership aims to create stronger, safer communities by:

• Tackling problems caused by substance misuse;
• Ensuring people feel safe and have confidence in the criminal justice system.
