Peter Morton

Peter Morton
Peter is the Chief Executive of Sheffield Homes since it was established on 1 April 2004. Sheffield Homes is the arms length management company set up by the council to manage council housing and deliver the decent homes programme. Sheffield Homes was the first in the country to receive the top inspection rating twice for its excellent customer services. The decent homes programme will transform council housing in the city by December 2010 through an investment of almost £700 million. Peter was previously Head of Housing at Sheffield City Council responsible for all tenant services and he worked for Sheffield Council for 20 years prior to establishing Sheffield Homes.

Natalie Hunt (Board Observer)

Natalie Hunt
Natalie is a Network Development Officer in OFFER's staff team, which supports Sheffield's community empowerment network. She has a particular role in the team for neighbourhood issues, supporting community organisations to work in partnership and to have a full and effective voice to influence service delivery. She has also developed the How your city works programme which brings together information about Sheffield first, the council, the Voluntary, community faith sector to help increase community workers/activists effectiveness when influencing on behalf of communities. Her previous jobs included setting up a young peoples support programme at Nomad, managing a community IT project, and various facilitation/training posts.

Helen Thomson

Helen leads on the Economic Inclusion agenda for Yorkshire Forward, with responsibility for major investments in people and communities.  Coming from a background in the 3rd sector and experience of cross sector working, her role is to link more people to employment opportunities and ensure that there is a stronger economic focus for communities that experience greater poverty.

Bob McCann

Bob McCann
Bob was elected to serve as a City Councillor for the Graves Park Ward in May 2006 He has recently been appointed as the Liberal Democrat Shadow Cabinet Adviser for Safer Neighbourhoods. Bob was previously on the council between 2000 & 2004 When he was special assistant to the Cabinet Member for Housing; he then became Shadow Cabinet Member for Housing. Bob made many contacts in the tenants movement and believes that decent housing is fundamental to successful neighbourhoods.
